I love Organic Babies

In preparation for my arrival, my mother cleaned out most of Boots’ pharmacy buying up every lotion and potion and cream to create an arsenal of baby remedies. Most of them have yet to venture out of the “cabinet where creams are left to dust over”. With the exception of one. Well, one brand in particular.

The Organic Babies range from Green People is one such skincare collection, perfect for sensitive skin and skin prone to dryness, eczema, psoriasis and other allergic reactions. There is something about a product having the word ‘organic’ in its heading that instantly fills me (and my mother, I have no doubt) with confidence and a feeling that what I’m getting is intrinsically good for me. No funny stuff, no weird fragrances and nothing that will tamper with my baby-soft complexion!

The collection came about because Green People founder Charlotte Vøhtz, mummy to Sandra, needed a product range that would complement her daughter’s young skin. “Babies and children are far more sensitive to their surroundings than adults,” she says. “Even tiny amounts of synthetic ingredients in lotions, creams, shampoos and other skin preparations can spark off allergic reactions. I believe that only the best is good enough for our young ones.”

The products which get the most air time at my changing mat are the Organic Babies dry skin baby lotion (£9.45/150ml) and soothing baby salve (£9.70/100ml). I suffer with mild eczema and have reacted to scented products in the past so finding products that are gentle on my skin has been somewhat tricky. However, after only one day’s use of the salve, my (ahem) nappy rash had all but disappeared and I swear by the lotion to keep my skin soft and supple. It’s not surprising then that the lotion was awarded the Bizzie Baby Silver Award in 2012 and that midwives have recommended the complete range, which includes Mum & Baby rescue Balm, Baby Wash & Shampoo and Baby Oil [products available at John Lewis, Ocado, Independent Health Stores and online].

I’m adding my recommendation too, sealed with a big baby-soft kiss!
