PPQ’s 80s Party Girl

It was a case of best foot forward at PPQ, sending the girls down the catwalk in Manolo Blahnik heels (courtesy of an exclusive collaboration with the shoe maestro this season) and to rocking Eighties anthem Addicted to Love. Definitely one of my favourite collections this season, thanks to an inbuilt obsession with fashions of that excess-loving era passed down by my mother; I will be referencing most the of looks for my future fashion years.

There was something of the Fifties also woven into the aesthetic of the collection along with the strongly Eighties shapes and shades demonstrated in the brightly coloured coats of turquoise, pink and yellow, graffiti-laden body-con dresses which also came in neon knit, and prom and cocktail dresses that could have come from Molly Ringwald’s closet for all the bubble skirts, hair bows and elaborate shoulder detail. Tuxedo-customised chiffon gowns and elbow-length gloves continued Amy Molyneaux’s train of thought as she played to the crowd of fashionistas on the lookout for the next big thing in party-cool styling.
