The Topshop girl is set to receive her second makeover courtesy of British fashion designer JW Anderson as he returns for his second collaboration with the high street retailer this month. Weaving his iconic signature style into the Topshop sensibility for SS13, this second collection evolves the look of his September offering incorporating statement pieces with a new twist.
The motif jumpers once again play a starring role in the capsule, though have been reworked in unexpected futuristic fabrics which convey a more modern, pared back aesthetic, and the trusty kilt returns though this time in a heavy indigo denim. Anderson has further updated the classic beige trench in sophisticated black and beige patent, while loafers are given a dose of Nineties cool bolstered by three inch platforms. Neoprene and vinyl come into play for pleated midi skirts and simple Harrington jackets in muted tones of lilac and beige, and wardrobe staples from AW12 including gingham and striped shirts, polo tees and duffle bags are all branded with the JW logo.
The London College of Fashion graduate launched his eponymous collection in 2008 with an initial focus on menswear before trying his hand at women’s apparel with a capsule collection for AW11 following hordes of requests from fans and stockists alike. Supported by BFC initiative NEWGEN, Anderson has been a regular on the London Fashion Week show schedule since February 2011 with his collections stocked in Moda Operandi, Jeffrey, Selfridges, Dover Street Market, Matches, Le Bon Marche and Opening Ceremony. His collection for Topshop (priced between £20 and £300) will be available from 15th February in Topshop Oxford Circus, Arndale, Selfridges, Brompton Road, New York, LA, Chicago and Topshop.com, coinciding with the start of London Fashion Week AW13.
JW Anderson will be presenting his AW13 Womenswear collection at the Topshop Show Space on Monday 18th February for London Fashion Week after it kicks off with a new schedule of shows and presentations on 15th February.
