In a rather exciting fashion first, Mummy’s favourite fashion glossy Glamour magazine has teamed up with Very.co.uk to create its debut clothing range to be exclusively carried by the fashion e-tailer. Today marks the launch of the Glamour SS13 collection, and if any of you were wondering what happens when you take a magazine editor well-versed in forecasting trends, together with her creative director and senior fashion editor; well you are about to find out.
Glamour editor Jo Elvin and her fashion editorial cohorts, Charlotte-Anne Fidler and Sophie Cooper, have devised a tightly edited collection of 13 pieces designed to offer a woman the ultimate capsule wardrobe. With a focus on timeless appeal and classic style, the range (priced £15 to £59) comprises a tweed biker jacket, sharp-collared white shirt, slouchy sweatshirt, puffball mini skirt and black broderie shirt dress. Keeping it simple and subtle with a colour palette of classic whites, blacks and greys accented by a touch of pink (so patented by Lacoste’s fragrance), the look for SS13 is muted monochrome. A mid-season update of the collection will follow in April/May, ahead of a more extensive range planned for AW13.
It stands to reason that the very creative minds who dedicate themselves to sourcing the looks destined for our wardrobes should turn that rich experience and skill to crafting a collection of their own. From weaving a seasonal style with words to foraying into actual fashion design, the pupils have become the masters.
