The former chicer half to one of Hollywood’s most beautiful couplings, French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis has become the face of Conscious at H&M this spring season. As part of the fashion retailer’s continuing drive towards a more sustainable fashion future, the mother of two has donned pieces from the women’s collection for the campaign.
Surrounded by a floral oasis, as though set in the middle of a forest in full bloom, Paradis is shown in a ruffle-edged yellow sundress and an embellished zip-up utility jacket teamed with botanical print trousers. Reflecting the romance and springtime joy of the collection, which ranges from floor-length dresses and sporty styles to a cropped jumpsuit and tropical print T-shirt dress, H&M has crafted every piece from sustainable materials, such as organic cotton, recycled polyester and Tencel.
Ever stylish and adept with her own fashion sensibility, Paradis said of her latest venture: “I like being part of something like the Conscious collection at H&M. I try my best to shop consciously, and vintage is very much part of my wardrobe. I love the style and it works in an eco-friendly way because I like to use and reuse old clothes.”
The Conscious collection has been devised to demonstrate that beautiful fashion can be created from conscious materials and will run alongside the brand’s Conscious garment collecting initiative which is being launched at the same time. Shoppers are invited to bring unwanted items of clothing from any brand into any H&M store within the UK and Ireland and in return will receive an H&M voucher up to a maximum of two bags per customer per day. The initiative is being launched in a bid to reduce the amount of clothing that gets sent to landfill and the subsequent environmental impact that causes.
The full Conscious women’s collection will be available in H&M stores worldwide and online from 25 March, together with Conscious collections for men – which includes blazers, chinos, Ikat print shirts and shorts – and fun prints for babies and children.
