This week saw the announcement that Scottish designer Christopher Kane has signed an agreement with PPR, one of the world’s leading accessories and apparel groups, who have acquired an equal stake in the eponymous luxury designer brand.
A graduate of London’s fashion and design college Central Saint Martin’s, Kane founded his label in 2006 and has since established himself as one of Britain’s most talented and innovative designers. Known for his classic yet at times daring creations, Kane has developed his brand to encompass not only his much coveted ready to wear collections for women, but an equally successful line of menswear which debuted in 2010.
Selling his designs across the globe, though based in London, Kane has collaborated with a number of well-known brands, including Versace, Versus, J Brand, Topshop, Swarovski and Shiseido. This latest partnership looks set to ensure the brand’s continued success as PPR – renowned for empowering new creative talent, with Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney already in its portfolio – works to enable the Christopher Kane brand to extend its reach and support it in its growth and expansion.
