The Return of Carrie Bradshaw

I am beyond jealous as my Stateside mini fashionistas prepare to indulge in an evening of ultimate Sex and the City nostalgia as prequelicious series The Carrie Diaries makes its highly anticipated debut on the CW tonight. In a way continuing where the second Sex and the City movie left off, the show aims to fill in more of the backstory that joined the paths of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte and more importantly led to Carrie’s love of fashion.

Starring actress Anna Sophia Robb as the Eighties-adorned young Carrie Bradshaw, courtesy of uber dressing talents by Gossip Girl stylist Eric Daman; I cannot wait to see how the pair will interpret the style of one of the most iconic fashionistas in history. In my mind, no patch on Sarah Jessica Parker, who will always be the only Carrie Bradhsaw for me, it will be interesting to see how Robb fares, filling those size 7.5 Manolos.

So, as the new Carrie premieres I thought I’d take this opportunity to take a retrospective look back at the old Carrie and the looks that catapulted not only the show’s stars but its stylist, Patricia Field, into the fashion spotlight.
