Ahead of Fashion Month, which kicks off in New York on 7 February, designer Matthew Williamson has teamed up with British knitwear brand Ballantyne to produce an exclusive capsule collection for men and women.
The range will be make its debut during Milan Fashion Week as Williamson unveils his designs in partnership with the cashmere label, which was founded in 1921, and though producing its wares in Italy and Scotland remains true to its British heritage. This collection will undoubtedly invoke many of Williamson’s trademark characteristics, from eclectic prints to vibrant hues.
Franco Natalucci, CEO for Ballantyne Cashmere, expressed his excitement at bringing the British designer on board. He said: “We are thrilled with the choice of Matthew Williamson as creative director of this capsule collection, in addition to our British roots both brands share a genuine love of quality and luxury workmanship”. Williamson responded in kind, saying: “It was a privilege to work with Ballantyne, an iconic brand possessing such a rich British heritage. Ballantyne has a great appreciation of style and craftsmanship which truly complements the Matthew Williamson brand.”
With beautiful knitwear styles for both men and women, the Matthew Williamson for Ballantyne AW13-14 collection will be available to buy from July.
