Wondering what to decorate the coffee table with this year, aside from the staples of Vogue, Baby London and The Sunday Times Style section? Well, ponder no more as the online style destination for sophisticated gentlemen, MR PORTER has announced the publication of its first book MR PORTER PAPERBACK: The Manual for a Stylish Life Volume One. Collaborating with four menswear designers, Katie Eary, Matthew Miller, Richard Nicoll and Sibling for the London Collections: Men AW13, each of whom have designed three pieces exclusively for the site, MR PORTER is further celebrating the finest in men’s fashion with this, its literary offering.
Edited by MR PORTER’s Editor-in-Chief Jeremy Langmead, formerly the editor of Esquire and Wallpaper* magazines, the book features content from the Journal magazine on the site offering advice on fashion, motors, interiors, design and music. Delving within the psyche of the fashionable man about town, this literary guide is filled with insider style tips, interviews and profiles of a number of well-known men from across the globe. The book also includes a gallery of Style Icons and a special section titled “The Knack (and how to get it)” in a bid to educate the fashion-forward male on capturing that certain je ne sais quoi with his appearance.
As for the book’s appearance, that task has fallen to esteemed book designer David Pearson and MR PORTER’s own art director, Leon St-Armour. The paperback (£20) is available from mrporter.com now and will extend to a selection of handpicked retailers globally from 13 January, including Colette, J.Crew, ACNE, Saturday Surf NYC, Jean Shop, Private White V.C., Sunspel, Ami, Folk and Richard James.
The ideal Sunday morning reading I’m sure you’ll agree for any dapper Daddy worth his style salt (and pepper!)
