The much-anticipated creative collaboration between the British Fashion Council and iconic footwear designer Manolo Blahnik CBE for London Fashion Week AW13 has finally been unveiled. The whimsical illustrations, reflective of the designer’s signature fashion drawing style, are inspired by Blahnik’s career and tell of those key figures within the industry who have left an indelible mark on his journey to sartorial acclaim.
The imagery will feature across all print, marketing, digital and social media platforms for LFW AW13 as an exciting roll call of designers are announced to be showcasing their wares in February next year. New to the London runways are American designers Tom Ford and L’Wren Scott, while Julien McDonald makes a welcome return alongside catwalk designers Antonio Berardi, Burberry, Christopher Kane, Erdem and Jonathan Saunders.
The hottest names in new design talent, including J.W. Anderson, Sophia Webster and Simone Rocha, will unveil their AW13 collections with NEWGEN, located in the dedicated Topshop space. The full provisional schedule is available to view online bordered by Blahnik’s masterful creations, featuring the flame-haired mistress of US Vogue, Grace Coddington. I sense an exciting season ahead.
