A fashion favourite of mine for its constant style innovation, charismatic blend of high street, vintage and accessible designer wares and ability to cater to every type of girl; Topshop is extending its reach to Asia with the opening of its first store in Hong Kong, China in May 2013.
Set to occupy over 12,000 square foot across two floors of Asia Standard Tower, a locale which is gaining aplomb for its gravitational pull attracting numerous international fashion brands; the much anticipated Hong Kong store will have prime positioning for the footfall of fashionistas frequenting the Queens Road Central district.
Big boss Sir Philip Green commented on this latest venture, which has been undertaken in partnership with Lane Crawford, Hong Kong’s leading specialty store. He said: “I am delighted to be launching TOPSHOP in Hong Kong in 2013 with Lane Crawford as our chosen partner. Their team’s expertise in the Chinese market is invaluable to us. This is certainly a very exciting step in the continued growth of TOPSHOP as a global, yet uniquely British, brand. I am confident that the fashion-loving Hong Kong customers will enjoy the retail experience and fantastic product offer that TOPSHOP will deliver for them.”
The store will be divided into distinct rooms, each designed to showcase the various elements of the Topshop range with the ground floor hosting the brand’s fashion lines against a palette of raw concrete and gloss white panels, alongside a second room showcasing accessories and cosmetics. Meanwhile, the upstairs will offer a dedicated shoe lounge complete with mirrored ceiling, as well as a by-appointment Personal Shopping area treating clientele to the ultimate VIP experience a la Topshop.
With stores in 39 countries, and online delivery available to over 100 destinations worldwide, the Topshop name is fast expanding its global reach with recent international openings occurring in Australia, Brazil and South Africa. Prioritising its presence in the Far East, with 27 new stores opening in the past year, Topshop looks pretty set for global domination – so Mini Fashionistas of the world, parental cash supply at the ready, and shop!!
