Christmas at Topshop according to Emma Cook

It’s that time of year when mini fashionistas make the trip with Mum and Dad to climb onto the padded knee of mythical festive figure, Santa Claus in his earthly holiday home, a.k.a. the Grotto, and share with him their deepest desires. Well, my list does not include plastic doll houses or programmable cuddly dogs; I’m more of a dresses and accessories gal. So when I heard that designer Emma Cook had lent her creative vision to transforming a specially curated section of Topshop’s Oxford Street flagship store into a Winter Wonderland, I knew where my seasonal stop would be.

Blending Cook’s signature playful aesthetic with her penchant for fantasy art and surrealism, Topshop’s Edited Space features pink Christmas trees and pink pineapples adorned with fairy lights. The designer has formed a collection exclusively for the fashion retailer, made up of knits in candy pink and mint green, dresses, decorations and presents. Said gifts range from the quirky in the form of a rabbit-shaped soap on a rope wearing a metallic crown to the cosy in a duvet cover featuring a sleeping deer printed in the corner (a nostalgic nod to Disney’s Bambi perhaps?!).

There’s something for beauty connoisseurs too, as Topshop Make-Up unveil eight new Glitter Nail shades in line with Cook’s collection from December. It won’t just be your tree getting the twinkle-tastic tinsel treatment, as multi-colour glitter discs, star sparkles and bright metallic shades set your hands alight for the party season
