From the jewel tones which bedazzled the SS13 runways to actual jewels with which to adorn wrists, fingers and décolletages; Indian fashion designer Manish Arora and luxury fashion label, Prada have made their sparkling forays into the realm of jewellery.

Arora has joined forces with jewellery label Amrapali to create a capsule in collaboration with the designer’s SS13 ready-to-wear collection, inspired by the opulence of Indian royalty. Comprised of a range of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and hair accessories, Arora delved into the jewellers’ archives to craft a collection which marries contemporary colours with an antique aesthetic. The designer has transformed traditional tribal pieces into modern artworks reworking them in gold plating, stone and a crystal setting using the Indian art of Meenakari. Exotic wildlife is the pervading motif across the capsule as pieces are decorated with tigers and antelope hand painted with enamelling and gemstones. Amrapali Boutiques in London and India will carry the collection from February 2013, in addition to selected department stores worldwide.

Not alone in his quest for jewelled adornment for the new style season, luxury fashion house Prada has unveiled a new range of jewellery incorporating three beautiful collections. Blending black and ivory tones, the Ramage Collection features a metal alloy serpent encircling the jewel and small flowers and crystals set in a precise pattern in the decoration, while bracelets continue the floral motif by way of vibrant bouquets on enamel in the Bloom Collection in black and white, green and white, tortoiseshell and pink. The jewels are brought to life via alternating flowers in varying sizes, creating a three dimensional look set in a sculptural plexi frame. Completing the opulent trio is the Charms Collection in hues of tortoiseshell, black, plexi and metal. Conveying the glamour of Las Vegas, the charms resemble casino chips and are designed to adorn bracelets or star as a single pendant to a necklace. The Prada jewels will be available later this month from Prada boutiques.
