Pop Princess Kylie Minogue unveils fashion tome

Styled by some of the world’s most renowned designers, from Jean Paul Gaultier to John Galliano, Kylie Minogue is releasing a book to commemorate 25 years of fashion throughout her career. Kylie/Fashion will document those all-important sartorial moments from music video wonder to on-stage diva as the singer celebrates her quarter century anniversary.

Speaking to Vogue, Kylie said: “This book charts my relationship with some of the most talented people in fashion throughout my career. It makes me very proud to see gathered together all the great designers and houses I’ve worked with over the years. Looking through my personal archives has been a real trip down memory lane and it is the fashion that brings back moments and memories of the last 25 years.”

An icon and role model from those early, curly-haired days on set at Neighbours to making her way gracefully through treatment for breast cancer; Kylie has proven herself to be an enduring staple of both pop culture and the fashion industry. Famous for her pert posterior in those sparkling gold hot-pants that had her Spinning Around and a multitude of memorable ensembles including the infamous white hooded catsuit, which ensured we couldn’t get her out of our heads, and the over-the-top outfits that decorated her X Tour; this style retrospective takes us through every look the Australian beauty has donned.

Remarking on the dramatic Grecian-inspired designs they created for Kylie’s Aphrodite world tour, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana include their thoughts in the book: “For us, it’s always a pleasure to create something special for our little princess. In the Aphrodite costumes, Kylie truly looked like a goddess.”

The style bible, which is preceded by a foreword from Jean Paul Gaultier, will also incorporate images that have previously never been seen as well as commentary from the pop princess herself and her creative director, William Baker. Designers Christopher Kane, who has styled two of Kylie’s music videos and Giles Deacon, whose lent his designing talents to dressing her on several occasions, have both offered their contributions to the book, which is set to be released next month.

Kylie/Fashion is set for release on November 19, published by Thames & Hudson.
