Ahead of its in-store arrival on 15 November, the coveted 105-piece collection designed by Maison Martin Margiela for H&M has been revealed. With a selection of garments are even available to buy on eBay already, with asking prices far exceeding the retail prices, case in point the £179.99 duvet coat is showing up on the online auction site for £235 and the £29.99 mirror ball leggings have been increased to £65. As the collection has already gone live via a New York pop-up shop, these inflated prices are coming from opportunists in the Big Apple turning the collaborative capsule into their own fashion gain.
A spokesperson from H&M said: “Unfortunately some of our guests have chosen to sell their purchases via ebay. We think it is unfortunate, but are in no position to take any further actions on this.” This is not the first time such a thing has happened, as the appeal of H&M’s past style collaborations with Versace, Marni and Lanvin have shown. Regardless, excitement continues to spill over as the much-anticipated UK launch date for the collection edges closer!
