It’s coming… The next dose of fashion-collaborative glamour to hit the high streets has heated up its anticipation with the release of the collection’s lookbook images. Maison Martin Margiela for H&M arrives next month boasting a pared-back palette of creams and blacks and navys, punctuated with bursts of colour, from a strawberry red draped dress to detailing on a men’s casual top. Oversized and slouchy reign supreme with fabric arranged in some instances into deft origami folds. Innovative and eclectic details come via a slouchy guitar-shaped men’s bag and leather gloves taking the place of handbag handles, as well as becoming elegant evening bags themselves. Glimmers of sparkle break up the minimal shades of the collection with skinny leggings for women and thin scarves for men complementing duvet-esque full length bomber coats and sharp suits respectively. It is a style which encapsulates the deconstructionist ethos and exaggerated proportions that single out the signature look propagated by the French fashion house and one which will thrill fans of the unique label (myself included).
The full collection will launch in H&M stores on 15 November.
