Spotted on the front row of many a catwalk show, Alexa Chung has carved out a role for herself within the fashion industry and afforded her unique style sense a high level of exposure via her years spent as a TV presenter. Covering Vogue and with a Mulberry satchel named after her, Chung has cemented herself as a contemporary fashion icon and now the British export has been named as fashion label’s Maje’s newest campaign girl. The brand’s founder and designer, Judith Milgrom remarked of her muse: “I just love the way Alexa looks in the clothes.”
The eclectic wardrobe of the Maje label mirrors both its creator’s philosophy of blending the classic with the original, crafting bold yet simple feminine silhouettes embellished with embroideries and lace; while also harnessing the individual flair of its newest It girl.
Stepping into the new year with this latest fashion venture under her designer belt, Chung will also be releasing her literary debut, which will reveal her style influences and tips, as well as personal pictures documenting her wardrobe and musings of the leggy fashionista. Incorporating illustrations, writing and photographs, the as yet untitled book will be published through Penguin imprint, Particular Books and is scheduled for release in September 2013. The model also recently received a nomination for the third year running at next month’s British Fashion Awards, which will be held in London.
