Antonio Marras yesterday served up afternoon tea to his guests, both at white clothed tables and on the catwalk with a mostly delicate array of sugary sweet dresses, coats and ensembles in shades of peach, pink and dusty blue. The designer did toughen things up with the occasional injection of military-chic, teaming an army jacket with a silk floral printed shift which had echoes of Marras’ time as artistic director at Kenzo, patchworking khaki onto a trapeze-skirted dress and styling his models’ hair into ‘just-fell-out-of-bed’ tousled up-do’s. Sprays of Swarovski appeared on tulip skirt dresses with flower-bed prints and punches of vivid-coloured silk were shot through billowing cape-shaped kaftan shirts and dresses. Marras kept things youthful with a variety of polka dots, pink sequinned gilets and disco-ball shifts as he showcased all that is fresh, flirty and girly for the spring summer season.
