It’s the penultimate day of what has been an innovative, vibrant and nostalgic London Fashion Week and today I’m wearing powder pink a la Christopher Kane’s SS13 catwalk collection and accessorising with a chunky floral necklace.
This morning Peter Pilotto wowed the style crowd with embroidery-detailed full-skirted Fifties dresses, colourful prints spicing up black numbers, patchwork and floppy skirt hems. Antonio Berardi followed with strong shapes and textures, an overload of azure sequins interspersed with sophisticated black, white and cobalt blue and edgy geometric prints.
Michael van der Ham, whose poster design I picked up at the Exhibition yesterday, offered up a pretty range of watercolour florals, girly dresses paired with my all-time favourite headwear, the Alice band, and skirts with mismatched hems. The flavour was asymmetric, kooky cool – think Blair Waldorf meets Bjork.
This afternoon I’ll be live streaming Louise Gray, Burberry and Mark Fast on Daddy’s iPad as we’ll be with friends celebrating the Jewish new year. Now that’s an idea for a collection, apples and honey… mood boards at the ready!
